Q. How long does an appointment take?
A. Allow one (1) hour maximum.

Q. How long does it take to make my hat?
A. The time varies by season. Currently, allow 14-21 days.

Q. How long does it take to make my bridal wear?
A. The time varies by season. Best to allow 5-6 weeks.

Q. Do you have a catalogue?
A. No. Usually, the lady tries on our samples of sizes and shapes to determine what form suits her best. The design process proceeds from there. A catalogue is more appropriate for static factory-made articles rather than private, personal consultation.

Q. Will you use my fabric?
A. Absolutely! Your cost may be reduced.

Q. My dress is still being made; what should I do?
A. Usually, this is the case. We work from a picture or your description of the dress. You need to know the style, fabric, colour(s) and type of beading.

Q. Are your hats made from felt or straw?
A. We hand make each hat using fabric over buckram and wire.

Q. My mother is suffering hair loss from chemotherapy. Can you make her a turban for my engagement party?
A. Absolutely!

Q. I do not really want to have a hat but just a little something in my hair or to cover my head. Can you do something?
A. We can make you some hairpins or a whimsey (fascinator) to suit.

Q. Isn't it expensive to have head dress custom-made?
A. On one of our hat styles, we have had requests to use fabrics which cost from $15.00 CDN a metre to $275.00 CDN a metre. While the worth of the hats varied significantly, each woman satisfied her budget. The same principle applies to tiaras. Beads, crystals and stones come in different qualities; the quantity used also affects the value.

Q. I have never had anything custom-made before. What happens if I do not like it?
A. Should this happen, we will work to change it to your satisfaction. Otherwise, we will give all your money back instantly.

Q. Can you alter my mother's headpiece and veil for me to wear at my wedding?
A. In most cases this is possible.

Q. Do you clean, repair and re-trim hats, such as felts and straws?
A. Yes. If we are unable to help you, we will recommend another establishment.

Q. Can I purchase a buckram hat form from you?
A. No. If you live in the Greater Metro Toronto area, we will recommend local retailers to you.

Q. Do you teach a millinery course?
A. No. We only train full time millinery apprentices from education institutions with whom we have a contract.

Q. My husband hates hats but I need to wear something for my son's Bar Mitzvah. Can you help?
A. Bring your husband along with you to the appointment and we will arrange something suitable.
