HATS EDUCATION < ONTARIO

The education of a hat maker / milliner possibly began as a child making a craft hat at home, in day care or as an elementary school project.

In the province of Ontario, the public education training process begins in earnest at the Secondary School entry level of Grade 9. General awareness of the basic elements in fashion is provided in the first 2 years.

An organized fashion curriculum referred to as a "fashion strand" begins in the 3rd year. Use the links below to review the entire substance taught.

In conjunction with our Toronto school board, we provide millinery training to grade 12 students for their co-operative fashion education credit.

During the final 2 years, a student decides on a course of further study. For fashion participants, the subsequent list contains all the colleges and universities recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training in Ontario to develop practitioners of the Fashion Arts.
